Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in match.

Shelbourne were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
